Hotel rooms need updating , not 5 star

The location

The sofa in our room was unusable extremely uncomfortable. Wardrobe door would not slide properly , toilet seat loose, fridge freezer compartment door broken off. Our beds were on wheels and the maid didn’t lock them after cleaning. The pool was nice however the area was very dirty , tables not cleaned or surround areas washed down .

Food was very good Fantastic coffee from the machine in the buffet and in the coffee shop by the reception Good location Rooms very big

Can’t take food from the restaurant We were going to full day trips where we would miss lunch and would struggle to find alternatives, so to prepare for the trip we have made sandwiches to take away and have been told off by a couple of members of staff telling us that it is not allowed even if we have paid for an all inclusive package

Would Stay here again - great value

Great hotel, great price and lovely facilities. Family room was a suite and was perfect!

Quiet area, but that was reflected in the price. Money spent on taxis still made it better value than staying in a town. Online details - some online details gave details of an indoor pool. This was not the case. Outdoor pools were great and facilities lovely but some info (not on booking.com) implied indoor pool.

Good for a short stay

Ours was a short 2-day stay on our way to the airport. The Grand Muthu was very convenient, with taxis available to pick up outside. Huge room, and good buffet food. The staff were really very pleasant.

Under the flight path for Tenerife South, the aircraft noise when using the pool area is off-putting, but at least it stops overnight. The hotel advertises long (3-week+) stays, but I'd not want to put up with the noise for that long.

Cute hotel. Not much to do in the neighborhood and a lot of restaurants dont open til late evening.

It is a nice hotel, although the Double Room is a misleading title. The pool was cool. And in the listing it said that breakfast is included in the price. It was not. Maybe that was my bad for reading too fast.

I had a Double Room, so I was expecting a Queen sized mattress. It is NOT. It is two double bed on wheels that they pushed together. They roll apart ALL the time if you try to sleep in the middle. And even sleeping on the single side of the bed you end up rolling away from the headboard if you move at all in your sleep. It was wild. And the first day I was there I was still in my room at 11AM when the cleaner was trying to come in to service the room. I asked if she could come back later. She never came. They clean the rooms every other day, according to their sign. I was there 4 days. My room didn't ever get cleaned. I guess she was over it. Lol. Luckily I don't really make a mess, because it was just me.

Good hotel, nice staff, good food, the heated swimming pool. Downside: noise from landing planes.

The heated swimming pool was a total game-changer, the food was good with plenty of variety. The staff were super friendly and always made us feel welcome. The evening shows were a nice touch too.

The only downside was the noise from planes landing at the nearby airport, sometimes it was a bit loud, especially when trying to relax. Also, we were there in February with kids, and we were a little disappointed that there was no kids’ entertainment. Normally, we’re used to seeing a kids corner and someone to entertain the little ones but not in this hotel. I’m not sure if that’s just during the winter months or if it’s like that all year round.

Had a really nice time relaxing from busy life

We took half board ( breakfast and dinner included) which made our life so much simpler! The food was basic quality but the convenience of not having to cook was making it so worth it. We loved the view of our apartment to a stunning sun set every night. The quality of the bed in the main bedroom was really nice! We loved the pools. (A baby pool, a warmed pool and a cold pool) The staff was really nice to us. The hotel has a convenience store right outside the door, perfect for getting a few snacks. We loved having our room cleaned as well. It felt really good to be sleeping in fresh sheets.

The hot and cold snack bar was very basic. Their was entertainments all throughout the week but we missed most of them due to poor marketing campaign. There are little things to do in golf del sur. It is meant for very quiet holidays.

Good for an overnight enroute to airport

The location. Quantity and quality of food. Quiet bedroom

The only bar open before 6.30pm is at the pool area, which was breezy on the day we were there. It would have been good to enjoy a drink, other than tea, coffee or soft drink, in the seating areas around Reception. Also, the Piano Bar, open at 6.30pm, did not have a lounge-bar atmosphere and was very unappealing.

Cold swimming pool in April/May

Hotel is big and there is paid parking inside. Restaurant wasn't busy when we were there, staff at the restaurant were very friendly.

Swimming pools were not heated, there was nobody using them (end of April) since the water was so cold. Snackbar was also closed. There's a bit of a drive to get out of the hotel neighbourhood. Food at the restaurant was well made, but nothing fantastic. Hotel is on the path of incoming airplanes for the Tenerife South airport so there is constant airplane traffic (every 10 to 15 minutes) during the day. We knew that when we booked and it didn't bother us. We are not coming back to this hotel again.

Staff very welcoming. Buffet dinner and breakfast great choices. Bed very comfy. Closeness to airport.

For one night before we are due to fly back its ok. Otherwise very noisy due to plane's landing.

The room was very spacious and bed and sofa was comfortable. The location was great as it was a 10 minute drive from the airport.

The planes flying over the hotel every 5 minutes to land. Pool was small and freezing cold. No room service available.

Ok place for one night stay.

Lobby and entrance seems luxorious. Pool area is quite nice. Personell were nice and friendly.

Breakfast was quite ok but wouldn't buy it for every morning. Bit boring for 10 eur selfservice buffet. Bar at the cellar was quite horrible from 80's. Why there was no nice cafe / evening bar beside the pool area ? or near the beautiful entrance. Long corridors and rooms were old and worn.
